Mayo River Trail Ribbon Cutting October 11, 2011

A ribbon cutting and cookout was held on Friday, September 30, in Stuart, Virginia, celebrating the opening of the Mayo River Trail (located along the rail bed of the Danville and Western Railroad, a.k.a. the “Dick and Willie”).
Over 100 people turned out for the ceremony acknowledging the opening of the first phase of the Mayo River Rail Trail. Anderson & Associates engineered the trail, and grilled hotdogs for the cookout.

A&A Project Manager David Inman visited Prices Fork Elementary School in Blacksburg, on Friday, September 30, 2011, where his oldest daughter Carley is a kindergarten student.
David had a wonderful time sharing his responsibilities at A&A with the entire kindergarten class, as well as explaining about designing water treatment systems, and giving a water treatment demonstration.

Anderson & Associates is pleased to welcome Dean Upton back to the firm as Vice President of West Virginia Operations. Dean, a lifelong resident of West Virginia, brings over 35 years of leadership and engineering experience with him, and has twelve years of previous project manager experience with A&A.
Mr. Upton received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Marshall University, and has designed and managed a variety of projects including sanitary, mechanical, structural, site/civil, and environmental. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in West Virginia and Virginia.
As VP of West Virginia Operations, Mr. Upton will build upon his relationships with local governments, private industry, and the public sector to provide creative engineering and planning solutions and local government assistance. He will address client goals in an efficient and proactive manner, and his knowledge and expertise will play an active role in shaping the future of A&A.
